Managerial Sales Jobs
(Keywords: Sales Job, Sales Manager, IT Sales, Sales Marketing,)

Sales, Sales, Sales! That's what business is all about these days!

Every business needs a sales person, whether its selling a product or service. Being a salesperson you would have expected target individually, of the sales team or of a sector. Being a sales manager on the other hand is even more competitive and challenging, as you have not just to ensure your team(s) meet the targets, but you also meet targets set out by either your partners, overall manager or directors of the board.

It's quite a good idea to think about your long-term life plan, and actually write it down. What do you want to achieve in the short, medium and long term? Try to be specific and realistic. Avoid listing goals like 'I want to be happy' (everyone wants this!). Do you want to acquire material possessions (house, car, holiday home, yachts etc)? Do you want to rise to positions of power and responsibility? Do you want to do work that is complex and intellectually demanding? In a survey of 100 schoolchildren conducted some 25 years ago, each was asked their life goals. Only three had these ambitions written down. After twenty five years, the group was surveyed again. 97% of the accumulated wealth of the group was owned by the 3% that had written down their goals.

Interview Tip
Do close the sale, both in your cover letter and your interview for a sales position.
Employers hiring sales reps want candidates who know how to close a sale.
Thus, make sure that you "close the sale" in your cover letter by asking for the interview
and telling the employer you will call to make an appointment (and then doing so).
